Read on: The 365 Equipment steal bug. There's is a very profitable bug in that if you are evil and with alignment below -100, you can use a bug in the Steal routines to max your holds at the cost of 32 experience and alignment points per 32 holds. This may be better used when you are fairly new in the game, when your alignment is low anyway, so your steal-selling is not profitable yet. Select a port that sells Equipment or that has Equipment on the dock. Port, select Rob and then Steal. Select 3 for Equipment. At the question of how many to steal, answer 365, regardless of how many holds you have. There must be at least 365 holds of equipment on the dock. You will fail and here is the bug. Somewhere an overflow is caused that fines you -32 holds, which is the same as giving you 32 holds. You can repeat this several times ( at different port) until you have Max Holds (for whatever ship you happen to have) + 32. So on a Starmaster you can have as many as 102. It is important now not to port for trading at any other port, as you would lose your extra holds (above Max holds) instantly . Instead go to the StarDock and sell the ship and buy another one of the same or different type. If you repeat this process you can make 500000+ on a 200 turn game, per pay. You will have to struggle to keep your alignment below -100, and you can just go to Earth, fill up with colonists and jettison them elsewhere. How to keep you extra holds and trade with them. Use the 365 steal holds bug to get your holds to max + 32. Now go to Earth and get a load of colonist to fill up all your holds. Now go to a port that sells a commodity that you do not plan to use soon. Once there port and Steal 1 unit of that commodity. Now you can unload your colonists at a planet of your choice. DO NOT jettison them. Now you can trade at any port, colonize, etc. with all your holds without losing the extra 32 holds. There are a few rules you must remember: 1. You can not jettison anything. If you do, you will lose the extra holds. 2. You may not trade that commodity that you used above. It seems to be what makes the game keep the extra holds. If you trade that utility you will lose the extra holds. 3. If you get busted at any port, you will lose your extra holds and then some.
