So that everyone knows…I have created a forum specifically for the 2002 WTC under the Home Sector Forum. Use this to discuss any issues before and after the game has started.

I have been asked about this a couple of times and the plans have now been set! There will be an official WTC warmup game over at Memphis TW (telnet://memphistw.org:2000)!

Settings will be exactly as they will be in the actual tournament this year, with the exception of the universe seed, so this is your chance to prepare! Date and time are posted in the “upcoming events” box on the right!

Normally this type of news would be reserved for the changelog page, but since it needs some explaining, I’m making a post about it here..

Redesigned and better than ever! I’ve become very active in the TW scene once again so I figured it was time for a new site design.

Hopefully, with all of the effort I have (and will) put into the site development, this will be the best version of the Home Sector web site to date! Please leave me any feedback that you may have!

That’s 4 games. I even checked the default menu for any games that was not put on the ANSI Menu. The only ones that were hidden were Game L, the One Love game, and Game R, Red Alert, both running for a while now.

Heh. And this was on the Stardock’s website: !!!!FIVE!!!!!! games this friday. One for everyone…every game meticulously cared for with loving edits. All-you-can-eat.

Well, someone must have been very hungry and ate up the 5th game..LOL

It seems we had troubles with account sharing OR an account hack; Either way, server rules were broken and the game thrown completely out of whack. When I checked the game Friday afternoon, Corporation [5] was ahead of the pack by far and will be declared the winners. Please read on…

Now had this been a normal corp back-stabbing without the account sharing/hacking, the game would still go on. This is a tough decision to make for a sysop, because either way, someone in the game will be unhappy.

Fred Wreck’s will be rebanged, with the current settings early this week. I may or may not decide to bring in the extra 6, more powerful ships after one week instead of two. I’ll decide when the time comes for the game to rebang.

If anyone feels the need to complain and/or talk about this, please e-mail *me* and not Eleq. I made the decision. Sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused anyone.

Congratulations to Corporation [3] –Hammer and Zelda–for winning RETRIBUTION! They will be added to the Game Champions! list later today.

This game will be replaced next Wednesday by another that is to be determined. Keep checking back for information!

Hekate told me this morning that Bud called her around 10:30PST last night and told her he was going home. Things weren’t as bad as we thought. Glad to hear the news Bud!

Greetings Everyone,

Not too long ago, our computers suffered major damage during a power surge. The surge devastated components throughout three different computers and made a mockery of our surge protectors. I was able to throw together parts to get two of the three machines working again, but in the end I was left with well over $700 in damaged equipment that needed to be replaced.

Without thinking twice, I made the trip out of town to a computer show where I picked up everything I needed. I returned home to find a slew of ICQ’s and emails that I did NOT appreciate. People badgering me to get the server back up, and some outright telling me I “sucked” as a sysop because of it.

I rebuilt the BBS, but decided to not resume service. Instead, I made my famous post from last month (viewable in our archives) expressing my anger over the unappreciative messages I had gotten.

Almost immediately, Bruce Davey (Dr. Bad) fired off a donation to help with the costs. Others soon followed. Within three days, I had almost half of what I needed. Overall, since then I’ve received OVER the $700 dollars needed for the computer. I put the rest of the money aside for ISP bills, put some towards my door game server (which hasn’t been deployed because I don’t own any doors), and bought a few much-needed programming books.

My wife and I would like to express our deepest appreciation for all those who have donated. The support has been absolutely overwhelming, and we cannot thank everyone enough. We are not exactly rolling in money, so every little bit helps. My wife finally understands why I love being apart of this community.

Fuseblown, I don’t know where I’d be without him. No one has any idea what kind of talent this man possesses when it comes to websites.
