Something with the TWGS is bringing the whole machine down. I’m actively looking into it, I guess this is what I get for wanting to run the latest betas. Please bare with me. I do have monitoring on the TWGS to reboot it, but if it goes down while I’m at work or while I’m sleeping, not much chance of it getting rebooted.

That’s right, the two sites with the greatest, longest history for Trade Wars news and information are going to merge. Soon, MK’s features will be integrated into this site and we will Borg. The site will be named Tradewars.org, the TWGS will be called The Stardock.

Merge dates and other information will be posted in the coming days…

Banging Monday, at 10 pm EST (7 pm PST) at twgs.coastgames.com will be Empire 10k! 6 man corps, 600 turns, 10k sectors! We have at least 2 big name corps committed to this game and every intention of it lasting more than just a few days.

These are new edits designed by Cherokee and Kemper3. They lean towards a more traditional game play, with red sdting, planet building, that sort of thing. The edits were designed with the intention of having a longer game. It is a 10k sector universe with ships edited in such a way that it should be easily possible to get planets to lvl 4 without being found. At the same time, colonist production is going to be 50k/day for 45 days, and then be shut off. This should keep the game from becoming a stalemate from ore. Full edits should be forthcoming in a day or so. We are just making a few final adjustments to them. Get your 6 man corp together and get ready for a good, fun game. See you there!

A variation by Kemper3 of the popular Red Alert edits ( SETTINGS ) will open Wednesday, at 7pm Pacific (10pm EST). Stardock TWGS, on the comeback!

EIS has given us a small update about what to expect for the new year on the EIS Forums:

“First let us state that we appreciate all the die hard Trade Wars fans sticking with it through the past year or so with little or no updates. This is just a quick memo to let you know that we are now back with vigor to complete some long awaited and anticipated updates to Trade Wars, TWGS and the EIS website. To give a brief status report of what should be coming in the near future:

* .56 Code Release
* Jumpgate
* Reported web site bug fixes (including registration and links sections)”

For reasons unknown (where are you Eleq?) Killer Instinct was not opened last night. Since we’ve been unable to contact big E, Jerry has agreed to host the game, starting tonight (1/12) at 6pm pacific time, at twgs.coastgames.com

I’ll be splitting on a mini vacation starting tomorrow. I’ll be locking the games to new players so I don’t have to deal with any cheaters while I’m in the warm, sunny paradise of Palm Springs, CA. I’ll be back Monday.

AND when I do get back, I’ll start on the programming on web-based TWGS login system like that of Coastgames.

THEN, I’ll be banging some games based on ideas given to me over ICQ and the forums. If you have ideas, better post them before then, and maybe you’ll have a shot at playing it.
