New Sysop wanted me to pass this along… New TWGS is open at telnet://maxrij.no-ip.org. Enjoy.

New Games Open
In the midst of a nasty data loss, which by the way is the first time the Stardock TWGS has EVER had to end a game before it’s time, I have banged some new games.
You can join by using the JOIN links to the left. This should help put an end to dupes once and for all.
New game at twgs.thereverend.org
The Reverend is going to open a 5k version of my new Back to Basics game at twgs.thereverend.org this Friday at 9pm eastern time. It’s 3 traders/corp, 5k sectors, 2k turns, 2 million starting colonists.
Hope to see a good turnout…
Holy $@##!! IP Changed
Running a TWGS on a cable modem has it’s problems. I had the same IP for almost two years! But now it’s changed, most likely from the switch when Comcast bought out AT&T.
DNS will update soon, but for now, telnet to 67.181.158.180 to access the TWGS.
Some links I’ve found
Here’s a review of the TWGS. Here’s a link to two Trade Wars related projects, which even includes a downloadable zip file. Remember TW_ATS and it’s maker, Badhouse Software? Lots of porn to be had at Badhouse.com these days.
What about TWAR. Kind of crooked that you can still order it, tho it hasn’t been updated in SIX YEARS!
TWGS Version .61 Out
and installed on the TWGS. Hope this solves some random booting problems we had the past few days.
TWGS Version .59 Official Is Out
Banging some Gameage
I’m going to open a high-turn game Friday afternoon. Maybe 2500 turns. Edits are going to be whatever I feel like.
Also opening Friday is going to be a new round of MASSIVE. Since the TWGS is flying along, I expect each and every one of you reading this to be there. Or else I’m going to fly to your house with my Res Judicata mask on and curse you down! CURSE. YOU. DOWN.

So? Make a HOSTS file entry. Stop bitching. Things cost money.
The TWGS Reviews Are In
Polling a few of my user via ICQ/AIM results in the same comments, that my workstation Sugarcube is WAAAYYY more responsive than the previous server, Phade. This leads me to believe there is something fundamentally wrong with Phade. Afterall, at nearly 2 Gigahertz, that piece of crap shouldn’t be much slower than the workstation.
Also, with the help of one of my users we found a bug that was causing some tw2002 processes to ramp up to 100%. The difference so far is that Sugarcube can handle the abuse, as where Phade went down for the count. Sounds like a CPU problem to me.
After I verify the problems, I’ll be purchasing some new hardware at the beginning of next month. Chips are cheap.
