<SIGH> The conflict with the USO has brought itself back to eGroups. I won’t even get into that mess. WTC and BOTE are still going strong…will they ever end? Probably. Any time soon? Doubtful. I’m just looking forward to HHT, my first full-time, completely dedicated game in quite a while…probably since the last Title Game at Home Sector (which KARMA dominated by the way, no matter how hard or easy the competition was).Not much else going on the past couple of days that’s worth talking about. I’m sure when I get back on Sunday I’ll have plenty to catch up on and report! I always do! Have a good weekend everyone!

Looks like Rolo’s team for the HHT has a new line-up! The team now consists of Rolodex, Cruncher, Zoobar, EleqTrizi’T, Prestone, and hELLCAT. A fifth team has also signed up, General Products consisting of Kavanagh, Medusa, Nazwes Chaiwind, Adomma, Soylent Green, and Tweety. Not a bad team, some very strong players there. Eclipse has moved! The original owner has taken it offline and it has now moved to INTERGATE. Space Ghost will still be the operator, and you can now reach it at twgs.booinc.com or the original address of eclipse.ultranet.com!

FEN had an Internet problem today and was down for a little while, knocked out most of the main TW sites, but everything is back up and running now :).A fourth team enters the Haunted Halloween Tournament! It consists of Hornet, Cyrus, Timberwolf, Buzz Lightyear, Speedy, and Bart. I’ve only heard of four of them and only seen three of those four play, so I don’t know how they’ll compare to the other teams that are currently signed up. Also, rumor has it that Rolo’s team has already disbanded before the HHT even started. Bad Girl and Guardian are no longer on the crew and rumor also has it that everyone else has gone as well! Maybe we’ll see a couple of different teams form up from the remnants of Rolo’s squad.

eGroups has been a little boring lately…I have posted on there that I will not be attending the Vegas Convention this year :(. Financial situations came up and things got tight and I had to cancel my flight, etc. BUT good, news is that TWPA should be up and running sometime in the near future! More on that below in the Site Updates.

There are a lot of new TWGS systems popping up out of the blue lately. The TWGS software is a real bargain at only $80, and people seem to be buying it left and right…now everyone and their drunken uncle has a TWGS system running. I think it’s going to be hard for any to surpass those like Home Sector, Intergate, FAMENT, Frogland, Eclipse, Silver Wings, and Deep South, which seem to be the real popular ones these days.

Not much news coming from any of the major tournaments still going…WTC has been going for months upon months…BOTE for three and the Haunted Halloween Tournament is coming up soon. People are talking about the level of competition being on the line with these major games still running. Will some of the better, well-known players that are playing in BOTH of the others be involved with HHT as well? I guess we’ll see…there are still only a total of three teams signed up for HHT so far…

EleqTrizi’T has posted some very interesting news over at Home Sector. TW account crackers, BEWARE! Word is there have been hack attacks happening recently and still occurring up until this weekend.The ‘Top Gun’ game over at Silver Wings is now underway. I decided to be a part of the game and must say that I’m having fun playing. I haven’t been playing games that much recently, so it’s something to help me get back on my feet. Even though I died today while SSM’ing and making my dinner at the same time (big mistake), I think I’ll stick with it until I use my other three lives.

Only a month until the Haunted Halloween Tournament! Does anyone have the ballz to stand up to the already signed up competition of KARMA and Rolo’s crew?

The TW League section is up, I got some information there…I will add the rest when I get back Sunday night or on Monday morning. I will be in PA for the rest of today and most of tomorrow/tomorrow night, so things will be slow here at TRADEWARS.WS until I get back.

Well lets see what is going on in the TW world. Egroups has been flooded to death with flame wars. And what was that Walmart shit you put in Egroups, Timber? We have lost some egroups subscribers…still wiping the tears after our beloved Mana made a quick stage left exit…

Ok looks like the WTC is going into a Mexican Stand Off. Word from Eleq is when it is time to rebang the next WTC is most likely will be a BI-Annual event..hoping by that time the first one will have ended

So I am here to tell you that Mana is off at Tradewar University taking a remedial course in port trading! He flunked out the first week for not haggling but now I have word that he is 5th in his class out of a class of five! Way to Go Mana! Hurry back and share your expertise with all of us!

Hekate has a job posting in Egroups. I have looked over her classified and the benefits are outstanding. That corporation sure knows how to take care of it’s own. I believe the new uniforms she ordered are quite striking also!

Story Ripped from Hellbitch’s hideout

Saturday the 17th June dawned like any other in the WTC. Went in and watched Peacemaker make the corp. some cash, while Washed Up Evil (aka Ripclaw) was on line hunting for us and our bases. It has gotten to the
point that there are really only 2 main corps in the game, The Black Knights (Washed Up Evil, Artemis, ., Lord Chaos, Maverick and Rawhead Rex) and The Good, Bad and Indifferent (Guardian, Bad Girl, Peacemaker, Atog, Mirkath and me).

After a bit of a fracas the other day where Bad Girl found one of their SST areas and destroyed a heap of ships, the Black Knights have vowed to dispense with the “ants at their picnic” (that’s us) but although we are outgunned in terms of figs (they have quite a few more than they do) WE AINT GIVIN UP!

Anyways, back to the story…

The Black Knights were having rather a shitty day, with Ripclaw fusing his maxed ISS (so sad, pays back for mine the other day lol) and Artemis blowing his ship up on mines, but the fun didn’t really start until extern.

Only one trader got towed at extern (due to excessive figs) and that was Maverick and as luck would have it I found him sitting outside sector 10 cloaked and subsequently assisted with him greeting the day by firing a photon into him 😉

Having done that I soon found myself with company in sector 10, Terrorist Artemis with 99,605 fighters, in his Interdictor Cruiser. Thankfully our strategy of keeping us all on one corp and the blues fed safe was sweet, so I just sat and looked him up and down. Now I only had that one photon on me (though Artemis didn’t know that) and my only problem was to find another blue from the corp (or anywhere else for that matter! on-line to come to 10 with a photon, so I could refill my stocks) but alas, none were anywhere to be seen!

Shortly before the next hour, the man with the CAST IRON BALLS, the legend of NO FEAR! (Guardian lol) came on line in icq. I told him of my predicament and asked him what to do.

He rushed in to the game and somehow we managed to load up our IC at Stardock with 100k figs and I also managed to get 2 more photons and be in sector 10 when the hour turned (and before Artemis rescued his corpie)
to pump another photon into Mav.

Just when guardian was about to sneak up on Mav in the adjoining sector, who should appear on the scene in sector 10 but Washed Up Evil (Ripclaw) in his ISS with 50k figs.

Rip (to his credit) managed to warp into the adjoining sector with Mav, hit him with 5k figs and bump him into sector 10 before I could blink! (let alone fire a photon) and passing this information to Guardian brought on the response of “damn” (lol).
…

Now any person in their right mind would have left this little situation alone, and as I was typing to Guardian in sub-space “oh well, at least we got to photon Mav….” THIS happened!

The end result of this little fun excursion (sheesh and it must have been fun at 4am US time ) was that Maverick was podded, Artemis had gone from being a Terrorist to having +4,500,000 alignment (part of Guardian’s
plan) and Rip simply NOT talking to us any more!! *sniff*

What is it with these nonstop tournaments? Ever since the first Battle of the Elite two years ago, every server known to man has had at least one “tournament.” Recently, Intergate announced it’s Summer Heat “Tournament” which suspiciously looks like a regular Tradewars game but with the word “Tournament” tacked on. Here are a few of the things planned for this gam-uh, “Tournament:”

A) Low Turns
B) there will be some heavy hitting ships in the game along with some edited planets with fast advancing citadels.

In case you haven’t played at the Home Sector since it… I don’t know… HAS BEEN ONLINE, this probably would be a new thing to you. But as far as I know, there’s only one person who hasn’t played there.

C) Backstabbing, corp jumping..etc..will be part of this game

Hell, if I wanted to experience that, I’d just play at Notorious BBS.

But unlike some people, I’m not afraid of change. Therefore, I will now say “tournament” every time instead of “game.”
