With all of the talk of the TW Convention 2000, I have decided to double my efforts on the TWPA project. Had I made it to the convention this past weekend I would have been able to explain my idea to the group there, but for now, I have sent out an e-mail to a couple of east coast TW players with my idea and a proposal to meet to discuss the project in more detail and to get more user input and leadership (besides myself) behind the concept of the TWPA. I will be adding more people to the contact list for the TWPA in the future once there is a firm foundation established for the association (i.e., goals, plans, etc.). Revisions, added ideas, etc. can be added from there.Some of you people are jumping way ahead of me here and it’s hard to keep up. I know there are plans for a couple of other meetings in the works across the country. I would like the TWPA to be able and help make it a constant thing.

I’m hearing about a lot of good things that came out of the TW Convention 2000. Lots of ideas flowing and that’s a VERY good thing. A couple of the attendees have taken pictures and will be posting them on the ‘net sometime in the near future. With this good news, I have decided to work harder on establishing the TWPA as soon as I can (See Site Updates).

People are finally coming back from the first annual Trade Wars 2002 Convention held in Las Vegas! Everyone has said that it was a good time and now I really regret that I missed it :(. Oh well next year will be a different story…I *will* see all of you in Virginia Beach next October!For those of you that haven’t checked out the “Days of our Silver Wings” soap opera over at the TW Gazette site, now’s a good time! Intergate is rebanging four games starting tonight at 6pm EST, two of them are brand new! Aitvo wants us to fill the server so let’s see what we can do!Oh the flames have started again. It seems that when certain people enter the TW2002 eGroup the proverbial substance hits the fan. Hard to tell how long this one will last. I’m staying out of it this time. I have better things to do.

Word has it that Hekate took a digital camera to Las Vegas for the convention this weekend! Pictures will be posted on the TWcon2k site as they get the chance in between winning lots of money! (Space Ghost is up $350!). It’s good to hear that some people are having fun out there. Wait until they get home to the 200+ messages waiting in their mailboxes from this weekend’s battle!

Timberwolf has gotten a new domain name for his site. The TW Gazette can now be reached at https://www.twgazette.com! It seems that Timber has an ongoing Trade Wars soap opera…check out the site to see who the first lucky group is!Silver Wings has also received their own domain name…they will be reached at https://www.silverwingstwgs.com within the next day or so.

Viva Las Vegas! The TW2002 Convention officially begins today! I want a postcard! Speedy told me he will send me one…I guess he’s my only friend <sniff>.

The voting process for the new league board member has finally ENDED!!! Congratulations to Guardian for being the winner! Macahan came in 2nd, Space Ghost 3rd, and Dark Helmet was 4th. The League may be adding two new board positions in the future, but that has yet to be decided. More information on that and more as it comes in on the wire!

A new league game will begin on the last Saturday of this month (Oct. 28th). HHT will be starting soon after this and the league game will probably lack in players a little bit. If you’re down on the bottom the rankings along with me (I have good reasons for that), then this might be your chance to gain a few more points to catch up! Viva Las Vegas! The TW2002 Convention officially begins tomorrow! A couple of people are heading out today and it should be a fun time! Those of you that missed out (including me) are going to miss a fun time. Don’t fret! Just start planning now for next year’s convention to be held in Virginia Beach, Va. in the beginning of October! If you get your rooms and tickets now things will be REAL cheap!Silver Wings is going to stay alive. I think the fighting finally died down in the TradeWarriors group and things seem to be going a little smoother now. The only thing that made me stay in that group were the female TWarriors and their talk about leather and whips <G>.

Supposedly Soul/Hell Razor has resigned from Silver Wings. There was a dispute in the TradeWarriors eGroup…things were thrown out of proportion, other things weren’t explained, and in my opinion there was a lot of miscommunication. Haunted Halloween Tournament starts in 14 days! Eleven teams have signed up so far…get your team in today!

I’m back from my weekend in Pennsylvania…only a few things at the moment to update on…Only three corps signed up for the Haunted Halloween Tournament…Wolfpack just sent in a team! Come on folks what’s the problem here?? There are about two or three other corporations that will be registering a team for sure…is it going to be a low turnout? Will BK come back to defend their title? I guess we’ll have to see!

People are apparently complaining about next year’s TW2002 Convention being held in Virginia Beach, VA. I don’t see anyone else taking the time to sort all of this out, find hotels, and try to keep everyone from waiting until the last minute to sign up like Bad Girl, Eleq, and Cruncher have. Some of you have no real right to be complaining. Not sure what this year’s convention will turn out like, but I’m sure it will be fun no matter what. If it happens to be a bad event, then I’m sure next year’s will be better! Have faith people, come on. If you have a problem with locations, etc., then host your own TW meeting…or wait for the TWPA to start up (hint, hint).

Also, another thing about whiners…Hekate made a very good point. If most of you hadn’t waited until the last minute to book flights and reserve hotel rooms, they would not be so expensive. This convention has been planned for about a year now, if not more. Six months ago, the entire trip probably would have cost about a quarter of the price, give or take a little. Next year’s convention *WILL* be in Virginia Beach. Get your rooms and flights now, or start saving and pick em up in six months and you won’t have this problem next year.

I want to commend Timberwolf on running an enjoyable server and hopefully the Den will return in the near future.Another reminder to reserve your rooms at the Excalibur for the TW Convention from October 20-22! Rooms are going fast and air fares are going up…don’t wait too long to book your trip or you will miss out on the first annual Trade Wars 2002 Convention! All the cool people will be there!!

I will be working on the TW League section of the site tonight and it should be completed and active before midnight EST. Not much site news today, I’ve been real busy at work with our company’s new web site launch, so I haven’t had the chance to come up with any new clever ideas <G>. Oh I do have a volunteer for co-sysop and he will probably get the position. Darth Vader from my old corporation NAV HAZ UNLTD. on the Pisces Network is going to be setting up a Star Wars game for the server launch sometime late next week. It will replace the ‘Red Alert’ game that I was going to bang previously. Be on the lookout for that!
