Welcome to the Grand Opening of the Site! Since there’s still much to do, I’ll be updating the site daily, or at the most, bi-daily. First on the list of things to do is graphical changes and finishing up descriptions for Web pages.
TWGS v1.0124 released
John P. Has released v1.0124 of the TWGS server. Grab it. Here’s what’s new:
“All past attempts at solving the extern scheduling problems have ended in failure because I have been focusing on the wrong problems. It seems that my code was fine, but the windows timer events were triggering when they weren’t supposed to. This revision includes a replacement for windows timers, so extern SHOULD run as scheduled from now on. But I’m not making any promises 😉
Even though the extern problem was OS specific (it seemed to be happening on some Win95 systems), I would like all gameops to install this revision so we can get a thorough test of the new scheduling mechanism.”
The Idea of Extern Actually Working is a concept foreign to most of you, but it looks like the legend during the times of yore when Extern actually ran on a consistant schedule may return.
United States Open 2001!
I’m sure you all remember that cold dreary night a long time ago…The date, February 14, 1929. The place, 2122 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois. The event…THE ST. VALENTINE’S DAY MASSACRE!Of course you don’t remember that silly, it was 1929. But you can experience it for yourself, Trade Wars-style at the USO ’01! This time, Al “Scarface” Capone and Jack McGurn aren’t the masterminds or driving forces behind the massacre…it’s Bad Girl (USO Founder) and Guardian (Moderator)! One of the major tournaments in the Trade Wars community has been announced and it’s on its way! Get your teams together and get ready for a slaughter. Click here for official information.
Our Humble Thanks..
The Home Sector/Stardock BBS staff would like to thank Karon for the generous donation that she has made to the server!
If you would like donation information (sounds like a Schoolhouse Rock tune..) please check out the top of the Game Champions! page here on the site!
Hey Don’t Call Me A Whore!
Couple of new sites popping up out there. Illusion has put up a Trade Wars site now, you can check it out by clicking here. Good work bro’.While checking out Illusion’s site, I have discovered that Bud (whom some of you may or may not know) has also put up a Trade Wars site called TradeWhores (hence the headline). I guess we are all whores in our own right…
Let’s see some more!
The Deep South TWGS Upgrades
Stonewall has made good use of his donation money and has purchased 100% more RAM for The Deep South TWGS. The server is now at a whopping 392 megabytes of RAM and Stoney has boosted the node count to 38. And THAT’S why you give donations folks.
