A recent request for some old audio has reminded me of some archives I have that I’ve never posted.

I captured the audio streams of some old internet radio broadcasts regarding Trade Wars.

A user named Amiskell posted instructions on how to get TWGS running in one of the most difficult ways possible.  But hey, it’s easy if you know what you’re doing!

Reminds me of the days I was running TWGS under WINE on Linux before Linux was semi-easy to use.  All sitting behind my custom BBS software, eleqtriqBBS!

… back in August!  I forgot all about it.  Not many websites out there can lay claim to being online for 20 years, but this site can.  

No one really comes here anymore, since I don’t post (and there are no players).  This site is barely getting 30-50 visitors a day.  I expect over the next few years, people will notice The Stardock has had an anniversary.

I found the original 10 year anniversary post.  I took the time to update the links in it so they work!  Unfortunately, I haven’t posted much in the decade since.  I closed my TWGS three years before the 10 year anniversary, and shortly after it I updated the website to what you see today.  I’ve been wanting to update the look of it for about five years, but I can never find a theme I like.  A lot of themes today require thumbnails and most of this site’s news has no thumbnails.  They simply won’t work.  

Looking around the forums I found out the TWGS software is nearing death.  It requires some special maneuvering to work in Windows 10,  TWGS and TWX Proxy both rely on a version of Delphi that doesn’t exist anymore, and every server I visited was mostly empty.  That’s OK, I’ll keep the site around for nostalgia.  There is a lot of good stuff deep in this site.  Good times.

I think it’s obvious by now I’m never going to update it.  I’m now redirecting the old pages to Micro’s TWGS Search.  He’s doing a good job of it.  Please check him out if you haven’t already.

TW2002 originated as a BBS door game designed to run on dial-up Bulletin Board Systems. It has since escaped its BBS shackles and made its way onto the Internet at large thanks to the TradeWars Game Server.

You can play TW2002 on dozens of free servers today. The author recommends the ICE9 server for starters, which can be reached via telnet at ice9-tw.com port 2002.“

Greetings and Salutations To Traders and Evil’doers everywhere. It is my pleasure to present to you HHT 2010 this game will be held at telnet://twgs.classictw.com:23 Game Start Friday October 29th at 7:30pm Eastern and it will be a 1 team vs 1 team format. Each Team will have 15 people ( hopefully ) . The two team are of course the Current Champs Team Kraaken challenged by the Team of Boo! inc. as well as friends of the corp Lead by Guest CEO Singularity.

The Settings will be 1500 turns per day and 30000 sectors 2 day turn Bank. Mbbs Gold. With many many many creative edits to both settings and Normal Game Ansi’s including various edits to in game menu’s. As these types of edits cant really be exported and because a 30000 sector game hasnt been released. I’ve given Team Kraaken their own practice game on the Classic Server And my team Also has a private game on the server.

If you would like to play please contact Singularity or Myself.(I believe Team Kraaken is Full)..It doesnt matter if you think i don’t like you or if you dont like me. Everyone is invited to participate.Training and Scriipts needed Will be provided !!

The rules have already been worked out between Responsible Parties but basically No Buy Outs and No playing more then 1 account and No Substitions once Game starts…Further No IP proxys that arent yours. You may play under multiple IP’s as long as they are YOUR ip’s.

This is an Invitational Tournament for the Servers Who Advertise thier Rebangs at EIS Classic TW Forums. The Game is meant to Reflect an Effort to balance Edits and poke holes into certain strategies and aspects of the game.

1 no Duping . No playing more then 1 account . No accessing your teammates account or your enemies account,No Subs if one player activates an account that is it.If he quits for any reason including tragedy in personal life..You are down a corpy with no replacement available.No IP Proxies You can have more then one ip but they must be you not a IP proxy in a remote location. 2. Bug Use is forbiden..This means GAME bug use…Spoofing a script is NOT against the rules.If you find a Bug you must report it to EleqTriziT via a PM at this website.

3.No Mega corping. Definition No Hard Sharing of Assetts ie figs/credits/ships/planets/real estate/ between 2 different server teams.No Cross podding for alignemnt points..

4.The Moderator is God and can make any controversial decisions.

Information Sharing cannot be controled and will not be Against the rules.
